April, 2020

During the slower period in the first part of the year, I've been working and stockpiling paintings  a lot from inspiration for the work from a European trip just before Christmas, and some from close to home, so am looking forward to showing this new work  soon.  As well as representation by Red Hill Gallery in Brisbane I  am once again represented down on the Bay at Manly Harbour Gallery, reopened  and directed by two great women, who've made the gallery a very enticing art space to visit, I do recommend it to you if you're local or visiting the area.

I've also been painting commissions for my family, the references being from a swag of photos taken at Slaughter Falls on a balmy day last spring, which appear on the Australian Work page. If you have suitable photos of family, or a scene you'd love to be painted, just email me.

Generally speaking, I am not known as a portrait artist but was approached by a lovely client to do a commission as a surprise for her husband in honour of their wedding anniversary. I thoroughly enjoyed both the painting process and collaboration involved in producing 'Barrister in Chambers'. The family (and the subject, more importantly) were very pleased with the result.
